WWE Star Tipped To Be The Next Goldberg By Hall Of Famer
A WWE Hall of Famer has thrown their weight behind a 27-year-old performer, tipping them to be the next Goldberg.
Booker T currently serves as a color commentator on NXT, but in his heyday, he was one of the top names in World Championship Wrestling.
He was a 5-time World Heavyweight Champion in the promotion before it officially shut down and was purchased by the Stamford-based company.
At the same time, Goldberg was one of the feared names in WCW. Both he and Booker T even feuded in the early 2000s.
In fact, Booker was one of the handful of wrestlers who got a victory over Goldberg in WCW.
Booker T Showers Praise On WWE Main Roster-Bound Oba Femi
At New Year’s Evil on January 6, Oba Femi relinquished his NXT Championship after defeating TNA X-Division Champion Leon Slater, indicating that he was headed to the WWE main roster.
While the decision came as a shock for viewers, Booker T backed it, claiming there were big plans in motion where he was headed.
Oba Femi fought Cody Rhodes at Saturday Night’s Main Event XLII, with their match ending in a No-Contest after an interference from Drew McIntyre.
Speaking on his Hall of Fame podcast, the 60-year-old former WWE Champion showered praise on Oba Femi, even comparing him to his once-rival Goldberg.
You got to really put those guys in position these days to succeed and succeed properly. And a guy like Oba Femi, you don’t want to drop the ball with a guy like that. You want to bring him in, and you want to bring him in white hot. And I think that’s what they’re going to do.
I think Oba Femi has the potential to go on one of those somewhat Goldberg runs. He’s unbeatable until he gets to that one guy, this guy that could, you know, get his first title shot and actually win it, you know, once you get on the main roster. So I’m looking forward to seeing exactly what Oba does.
