WWE Star To Return Soon, Injury Part Of Storyline

One of WWE’s absent stars will be back in action soon.

On May 16th it was announced that Ivar would be out of action indefinitely following an attack by Gallus two days earlier on NXT. There was no comment on the exact details of the injury or the status of Wes Lee and Josh Briggs who were also on the receiving end of the attack.

Ivar’s tag team partner Erick has been out of action since September 2023 after undergoing neck surgery.

However, according to Dave Meltzer in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, it seems the injury was purely for storyline purposes, and Ivar will be back soon.

Ivar was announced as being injured from an attack by Gallus. He’s just being given time off because he’s been working so hard of late but it’s nothing serious and just an angle.

It has since been reported by Fightful Select that reports of Ivar’s injury being a work are not true. They added that while the severity of the injury isn’t known right now, Ivar has been wrestling on borrowed time since he had a double fusion surgery in the past.

More WWE Injury Updates

WWE’s injury crisis has caused several changes to be made to both King and Queen of the Ring tournaments, often before competitors have even made it to the ring.

Ahead of the first round, Drew McIntyre, Bobby Lashley, Zelina Vega, and Asuka were all forced to drop out.

Elsewhere in the Newsletter, Dave Meltzer confirmed WWE was aware of the injuries suffered by Lashley and Vega well in advance.
