WWE’s next generation of stars is being rebranded with new names.

WWE recently filed trademarks for wrestler names on its roster with the US Patent and Trademark Office.

Two names that were trademarked on February 18 were Tristan Angels and Dorian Van Dux. This could mean that new characters are on their way to perform on WWE TV.

One of the names that has officially been filed and changed for is wrestler Nathaniel Cranton, whose name is now officially Tristan Angels. The budding star went by the name Nathan Angel before joining the Stamford-based promotion in October 2025 on its developmental brand NXT, where he performed in live events under his real name.

Cranton has since updated all his social media profiles to reflect his new name, Tristan Angels, making it clear that this is the on-screen name he will carry from now on.

Cranton was part of a signing class by WWE NXT in late 2025, which included several international prospects. Cyril Coquerelle, who has since debuted on NXT television as Elio LeFleur, and Mike Derudder, formerly known on the independent scene as Mike D Vecchio, were part of that class. Other names include Jaime Garcia (Zozaya) and Dusan Novakovic.

Dorian Van Dux also gets a trademark filing, but who the name is going to go to is still unknown.

WWE Also Files Trademarks For An Event Name

According to the Wrestling Observer, the event name WWE Clash was trademarked on Feb 17.

The company previously had a Pay-Per-View called Clash of Champions from 2016 to 2020.

The purpose of the filings was cited as follows:

Entertainment services, namely, a show about professional wrestling; entertainment services, namely, the production and exhibition of professional wrestling events rendered through broadcast media including television and distributed via various platforms across multiple forms of transmission media.
