WWE Star Officially Has Name Changed

A current WWE star has gone back to his original name after it was changed several years ago following his main roster debut.

The name Madcap Moss is no more because the man that used to be associated with “Happy” Baron Corbin has gone back to a name he used in the past: Riddick Moss.

It’s official because Karrion Kross referenced “Riddick Moss” last Friday on Smackdown even though it was Madcap Moss when they feuded.

Also, WWE has changed Moss’ website profile to show that he got the Riddick Moss name back.

Riddick Moss signed with WWE originally nearly a decade ago in 2014 after being a college football player that missed out on the NFL. It took Moss about seven years to make the main roster on a full time basis although he did have a brief time feuding over the “coveted” 24/7 Title before he was aligned with Corbin.

The pairing of Moss and Corbin lasted from September 2021 until right after WrestleMania 38 in 2022 when Corbin blamed Moss for Happy’s loss to Drew McIntyre at WrestleMania. That would lead to multiple matches between Moss and Corbin including wins for Moss at events like WrestleMania Backlash and Hell in a Cell. The rivalry ended with Moss beating Corbin in a “Last Laugh Match” on Smackdown.

Over the last few months, WWE has paired Moss with his real-life girlfriend Emma, who re-signed with the company in October 2022 after being away for about five years.

There’s no official word on why WWE changed the name from Madcap Moss to Riddick Moss other than Paul “Triple H” Levesque running WWE Creative instead of Vince McMahon, which has led to some name changes like Austin Theory and Matt Riddle getting their full names back.
