WWE Smackdown Preview for Tonight (Feb. 21) Including Bella Twins and Goldberg
This is one of those weeks where WWE has advertised several things for Smackdown. There are some weeks where they barely advertise anything, but on tonight’s show in Phoenix, they have some interesting things planned. It’s the last edition of Smackdown before the Super Showdown event in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia next Thursday, February 27.
Here’s what WWE has on their WWE.com preview of the show along with my quick predictions for each segment.
Goldberg returns to SmackDown ahead of Universal Title Match
Goldberg will be on Smackdown in person this week unlike when he appeared via satellite two weeks ago with Bray Wyatt. I’m not sure if there will be any physicality with Goldberg and Wyatt (or The Fiend), but they could probably some sort of face to face interaction to make people care more about the Universal Title Match at Super Showdown next week.
Prediction: I think Goldberg will do something that will cause The Fiend to retreat, so maybe there’s a Spear or something like that. I expect The Fiend to win at Super Showdown.
The Bella Twins return this Friday night for “A Moment of Bliss”
The Bellas are back and both pregnant. I believe they both live in Phoenix or at least Brie does with husband Daniel Bryan. Here’s what WWE wrote about this:
The Bella Twins are back this Friday night on SmackDown when they return for “A Moment of Bliss” with Alexa Bliss!
The former Divas Champions shared last month that they are both pregnant — Brie with her second child with SmackDown Superstar Daniel Bryan and Nikki with her first with fiancé Artem Chigvintsev. What will Nikki & Brie have to say about expecting, and might Little Miss Bliss discover any other juicy news?

Prediction: The “HUGE announcement” is expected to be the announcement of the Bella Twins in the WWE Hall of Fame 2020 class. That’s something we reported on last week. Nikki Cross was originally going to be part of this segment, but then WWE changed it to just Alexa Bliss hosting her talk show segment.
Naomi and Carmella collide for the right to challenge Bayley for the SmackDown Women’s Title at WWE Super ShowDown
This should be a pretty good match with the winner getting to challenge Bayley for her title. Carmella nearly beat Bayley last week, but Bayley cheated by getting the pin with her feet on the ropes. Naomi has been gaining some steam, so the match makes sense.
Prediction: I’m leaning towards Naomi to win here, but it wouldn’t shock me if they do a favorite WWE finish where Bayley attacks both women, nobody wins and then they announce a triple threat for Super Showdown. I’m not sure what they are doing at WrestleMania for this title, but I think a multi-woman match to include all three of these women, plus Sasha Banks and Lacey Evans is very possible.
The New Day & The Usos set to collide with The Miz, John Morrison, Dolph Ziggler & Robert Roode in Eight-Man Tag Team Action
They are four of the best teams on Smackdown, so it’s hard to know where this is going. I think it should be a very good match that gets around 15 minutes or so. They’re all veterans with a lot of experience and they work well together.
Prediction: I’ll go with the babyface team of New Day winning since I think Miz and Morrison are probably winning the titles at WrestleMania. Just like the women’s SD Title, I think these titles could be in a multi-team match at WrestleMania. How about a ladder match with these four teams? You could throw in Heavy Machinery into the mix as well.
Lacey Evans to sit down with Renee Young for exclusive interview this Friday night on SmackDown
I think this will just be something to talk about Lacey’s background as they have done in the past. They can have Lacey talk about the hardships of her life, push that she was in the military and talk about being a working mom. It’s all done to try to make her more popular. I still say she’s going to win the title at some point this year. Lacey is somebody that management is likely very high on, so they are going to keep pushing her.
