The main event of tonight’s episode of WWE SmackDown was confirmed during the opening segment of the show as major stars collided in the build-up to tomorrow’s Royal Rumble.

Cody Rhodes kicked off the night and was joined in the ring by Randy Orton, Sami Zayn, and Jey Uso, as all three of them claimed that they will emerge victorious tomorrow.

They were then interrupted by The Vision, and the group was about to head down to the ring for a brawl before Nick Aldis came out and announced an eight-man tag team match between the two groups.

The Vision jumped the faces before Cody Rhodes made his way to the ring. They took advantage in the brawl before Cody evened the odds. The match began after a huge brawl between the two teams.

The faces looked set to win the match after Randy Orton turned the tide in his team’s favor. He took out the opposition, and Sami Zayn was set to win with a Helluva Kick, but was attacked by Drew McIntyre, ending the match in a no-contest.

Drew would then be attacked by Jacob Fatu before Cody took him out. McIntyre then turned his attention to Cody and was about to hit him with a Claymore Kick, but Zayn instead caught him with a Helluva Kick.

He was about to take the WWE title in his hands, but both he and Cody reached for the title at the same time as their goals collided. They were distracted long enough for Bron Breakker to take them out with a double spear as he ended the night standing tall.
