Match Order Revealed For WWE Royal Rumble

Cody Rhodes CM Punk on WWE Raw

The match order has been revealed for the 2024 WWE Royal Rumble which only features four matches.

It’s time for the WWE Royal Rumble taking place on Saturday, January 27th at Tropicana Field in Tampa Bay, Florida. It was one of WWE’s homes in the Thunderdome Era of WWE. A lot of WWE superstars live in Orlando or Tampa, so it’s close to home for a lot of the talent as well.

The two title matches on the card involve the Smackdown brand with Roman Reigns defending the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship against LA Knight, Randy Orton and AJ Styles in a match where Reigns could lose the title without being pinned or submitted. The first fall wins in a match like that.

Logan Paul will also make his first US Title defense when he puts the title on the line against a former US Champion, Kevin Owens. Paul won the title in early November at Crown Jewel, so it’s been about two and a half months since he won the title.

There are also going to 30-Man and 30-Woman Royal Rumble matches that usually take one hour or more.

Fightful Select has revealed the match order for the Royal Rumble.

* Women’s Royal Rumble

* Fatal 4-Way Undisputed WWE Universal Championship: Roman Reigns vs. LA Knight vs. AJ Styles vs. Randy Orton

* United States Championship: Logan Paul vs. Kevin Owens

* Men’s Royal Rumble

It’s important to note that this could change and sometimes it does, but as of this writing, that is the match order.

Does The Men’s Royal Rumble Match Always Main Event?

The Royal Rumble started in 1988 as a USA Network special and then in 1989 it became an annual January pay-per-view that is now known as a Premium Live Event. This year’s Royal Rumble is the 37th edition of the event and the 36th time as a PPV.

Most of the years, the Men’s Royal Rumble match goes on last, but it didn’t go on last in 2023. That’s because the Roman Reigns-Kevin Owens match went on last while also featuring the big angle of Sami Zayn turning on Reigns and The Bloodline before they could turn on him.

In 2018 when the first Women’s Royal Rumble match took place, Asuka got the win and that match headlined the show.

For this year, unless plans change, it appears as though the Men’s Royal Rumble match will be the main event.
