WWE has called off its ban on WrestleMania 42 watch parties in Las Vegas after local businesses pushed back.

In early February, reports claimed that the Stamford promotion and TKO had issued a notice prohibiting commercial screenings of the Show of Shows, scheduled for April 18 & 19, within 50 miles of Allegiant Stadium.

Sadly, the ban also applied to businesses that paid a licensing fee to screen events. It was believed that the decision was made to improve the ticket sales for the event, which had witnessed a struggle.

The WrestleMania season is the time of the year that sees a movement of huge crowds from different countries to the United States to experience a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.

However, with the ban in place, fans who would have agreed to WrestleMania watchalongs would not have been able to do so.

Now, Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Select has claimed that WWE received pushback from the local businesses, forcing it to call off the controversial ban.

Sapp cited the examples of the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority and Stadium Swim, with a representative of the latter venue confirming that the ban had been lifted.

WWE Considering Changes To WrestleMania 42 Card

One of WWE’s major concerns leading up to WrestleMania 42 is its poor ticket sales. For the longest time, wrestling fans have complained about the exorbitant prices, with AEW star MJF even mocking the situation.

As a way to improve ticket sales, the company first booked CM Punk vs. Roman Reigns as the show’s main event. However, even that does not seem to have improved the numbers.

Triple H & Co. are now pursuing a different route that is aimed at improving the subscription rate on ESPN. Their plan is to add stipulations to marquee matches to ensure viewership for the premium live event.
