WWE RAW Tag Team Gets Last-Minute Entry Into NXT Tag Title Tournament

The NXT Tag Team Championships are set to be defended by The Vanity Project at Stand & Deliver next month, and a number one contender’s tournament was announced by the Interim General Manager a couple of weeks back.

Robert Stone announced the tournament, which kicked off last week in Houston, Texas, where The Birthright defeated Hank and Tank in the first match of the tournament.

Another match was scheduled to take place tonight between The Culling and the team of Eli Knight and Elio LeFleur, but the duo was taken out by unknown assailants during a backstage attack earlier tonight.

Los Americanos make a surprise appearance on WWE NXT

It seemed like The Culling would be given a bye as Knight and LeFleur were taken to the hospital, but Stone confirmed that he had a backup team prepared for a moment like this.

The team of Knight and LeFleur was replaced by WWE RAW tag team, Los Americanos, in the tournament as they took on The Culling. Booker T confirmed that Rayo and Bravo got this opportunity after Los Americanos defeated The Vanity Project last week on WWE NXT.

Both teams put on an interesting match for the fans, and it was ultimately won by Los Americanos after both Rayo and Bravo put a metal plate under their masks and headbutted Shawn Spears to pick up the win and head to the finals of the tournament.
