WWE Raw Preview for Tonight (July 13): A “Night of Grudge Matches” – Women’s Tag Team Titles, Owens vs. Rollins, More

Here’s how WWE is promoting tonight’s edition of WWE Monday Night Raw:

Don’t miss a Night of Grudge Matches this Monday on Raw! After her victory over Bayley last Monday, Asuka will team with Kairi Sane to challenge Bayley & Sasha Banks for the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship. Plus, Kevin Owens and Seth Rollins clash in a WrestleMania rematch, Randy Orton takes on R-Truth, and The Viking Raiders battle Andrade & Angel Garza in an Elimination Tag Team throwdown. It all goes down this Monday on Raw at 8/7 C on USA!

This show was taped on July 3. The next Raw TV tapings are next Monday. They also have Extreme Rules this coming Sunday, so this is the go-home Raw.

Here’s the rundown of the four matches WWE is advertising for tonight.

The Kabuki Warriors challenge Sasha Banks & Bayley for the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship

The team of Bayley and Banks continue their presence on all three of WWE’s main brands. Last week’s Raw saw Asuka beat Bayley in the main event and that led to this title match. They might main event again. Title change? Probably not. We saw Asuka and Sane as champions, which was fun, but I think the champs retain or get disqualified.

R-Truth goes one-on-one with Randy Orton

There was a brief interaction on Raw last week, which was kind of silly and now we get a match. Truth is funny and entertains me, but this should be a quick win for Orton. I would assume that Orton vs. Big Show happens at Extreme Rules, so they will probably make that official tonight.

If you’re wondering about the 24/7 Title, it’s not on the line. However, after Orton wins then maybe the “Ninja” Akira Tozawa will beat R-Truth for it.

Kevin Owens and Seth Rollins clash in a WrestleMania rematch

This should be fun. I liked their WrestleMania match quite a bit and thought it was one of the better matches of that weekend. They go way back before they were in WWE, so there’s a lot of chemistry there.

With Rollins wrestling at Extreme Rules in the “Eye for an Eye Match” against Rey Mysterio and Owens not currently in a match at Extreme Rules, I would lean towards a victory for Rollins. Then again, they could do something cheap leading to a disqualification as well. I’ll predict Rollins wins by cheating and maybe he goes after KO’s eye, but then Rey Mysterio makes the save.

The Viking Raiders square off with Andrade & Angel Garza in an Elimination Tag Team Match

It’s a little strange to have an elimination match when it is just two tag teams because then it becomes a handicap match. If it’s a three-team match then that’s fine, make it an elimination match. In this setup, it’s a bit weird.

I think WWE needs to give Andrade and Garza the win because pushing a heel team is necessary right now with Street Profits as babyface champions. There is not much depth in the Raw Tag Team division right now. I think Smackdown is booking their tag team division better.

THE HORROR SHOW AT EXTREME RULES

The next WWE pay-per-view is The Horror Show at Extreme Show on July 19, which is this Sunday. Here are the matches that have been announced so far.

Wyatt Swamp Fight (Non-Title): Braun Strowman vs. Bray Wyatt

WWE Championship: Drew McIntyre (c) vs. Dolph Ziggler – Ziggler gets to pick the stipulation.

Raw Women’s Championship: Asuka (c) vs. Sasha Banks

Eye for an Eye: Seth Rollins vs. Rey Mysterio

Bar Fight: Jeff Hardy vs. Sheamus

Smackdown Women’s Championship: Bayley (c) vs. Nikki Cross

United States Championship: Apollo Crews (c) vs. Montel Vontavious Porter

I assume we’ll get New Day vs. Cesaro and Nakamura in a Tables Match or Extreme Rules Match.

I’ll be back tonight with a WWE Raw Deal review as usual. It will not be live, but it will go up tonight.
