WWE reportedly had a huge program planned for Chris Jericho with a major RAW star.

The wrestling legend spent almost a year away from AEW before recently returning to Tony Khan’s promotion. During his absence, the 55-year-old was rumored to return to WWE.

Jericho had multiple runs in the Stamford-based company, with the last ending in 2018. In recent interviews, the AEW CEO confirmed that the former World Champion had a choice before re-signing with his promotion.

Upon his comeback, the wrestling legend entered a feud with Ricochet. The two clashed earlier this month at Dynasty, with Ricochet coming out on top.

WWE Allegedly Planned A Feud Between Chris Jericho & CM Punk

During a recent episode of The Coach & Bro Show, former WWE star Jonathan Coachman shed light on what the Stamford-based company had planned for Chris Jericho before he preferred to sign a new deal with AEW.

The Coach revealed that Triple H’s creative team wanted to book the 55-year-old in a program with CM Punk.

I talked to my connect and when Jericho was trying to decide, and Tony admitted to us that he was a free agent, apparently Triple H the only thing he had for him was a program with CM Punk. That was it. And Jericho was like, ‘Nothing else? Nothing else?’ And you see what happened. [1:32:57 onwards]

On the last episode of Collision, Jericho was pinned by Ricochet again during a six-man tag team match in which he teamed up with The Hurt Syndicate against The Demand. According to PWInsider, the former AEW World Champion is set to miss the next episode of Dynamite due to a prior commitment.
