On April 1, Chris Jericho made a triumphant return to AEW after a nearly one-year hiatus.

His hometown fans in Winnipeg, Manitoba, welcomed him with open arms, singing along to his Judas soundtrack as he announced his return.

The following week of Dynamite, he was all set to sign his renewed contract when he was interrupted by The Demand trio of Ricochey, Toa Liona, and Bishop Kaun.

Ricochet called out Jericho’s age, urging him not to re-sign with AEW. After calling Ricochet ‘bald’ a few times, Chris Jericho signed the contract, kick-starting their feud.

Both wrestlers faced off on the April 12 episode of Dynamite, where Ricochet secured a victory over the 55-year-old superstar by hitting a moonsault, which he began calling Ricosault.

Seeing as Ricochet’s victory came with the help of his aides, Jericho decided to align with The Hurt Syndicate, which led to a 6-man tag team match on Collision on April 25.

In the closing minutes of the bout, Lashley and Benjamin found themselves occupied with Liona and Kaun, leaving Jericho and Ricochet in the ring. With the referee distracted, the leader of The Demand hit a low blow on Chris Jericho before connecting with a Ricosault for the win.

Chris Jericho To Miss AEW Dynamite On Tuesday

Tonight, AEW emanates from the EagleBank Arena in Fairfax, Virginia.

Amid Chris Jericho’s rivalry with The Demand, he will reportedly miss the taping due to a prior commitment in New York.

A report by Mike Johnson of PWInsider revealed that Jericho has been working on a TV project, which will keep him from traveling to Virginia. The report, however, did not reveal whether or not the project is related to wrestling.

Regardless, his absence is being deemed as a one-off as he will return to live taping soon.

Elsewhere, a few matches have already been announced for the April 29 episode of Dynamite, where Darby Allin will defend his World Championship against Brody King.

Last week, MJF had also challenged Kevin Knight for the TNT Championship, which will go underway as planned.

Also, Kazuchika Okada will put his International Championship on the line against Ace Austin of the Bang Bang Gang.

In the tag team division, the Rippongi Vice duo of Trent Beretta and Rocky Romero will face Adam Copeland and Christian Cage, whereas The Brawling Birds will also be in action.

Women’s World Tag Team Champions The Divine Dominion will defend their titles against Kris Statlander and Hikaru Shida.
