Backstage News On WWE Plans For Andrade Following Return

Andrade

Andrade is back in WWE and there is some news on what the company plans to do with the Mexican wrestling star.

For the first time since his WWE release in March 2021, former US and NXT Champion Andrade was back in a WWE ring.

During the Men’s Royal Rumble match at Tropicana Field, Andrade was the fourth man in the match. He failed to eliminate anybody in the match, but he did last 22:59 before being eliminated by Bronson Reed.

It has been reported by Fightful Select that after Andrade ended his AEW run at Worlds End when he lost to Miro (another ex-WWE wrestler), it was expected that Andrade would re-sign with WWE and that’s what happened.

There was a belief that Andrade was going to start in WWE sooner, perhaps days after Worlds End, but the company chose to hold it off until the Royal Rumble.

As for what brand he is going to, Fightful reports that Andrade was scheduled for tonight’s Raw. Even though Charlotte Flair is on the Smackdown brand, she’s out of action for the next eight or nine months due to major knee surgery, so WWE has plenty of time to get them on the same show when she returns.

Charlotte Flair Was With Andrade At WWE Royal Rumble

Even though she missed the Royal Rumble due to ACL surgery earlier this month, Charlotte Flair was with Andrade backstage at the Royal Rumble. She was seen spraying something on her husband’s body before his appearance in the Rumble match. The video was posted by WWE as well.

The Fightful story added that Charlotte pushed for Andrade’s WWE return as well. Happy wife, happy life as they say.
