BREAKING: WWE Officially Announces Blockbuster Return
WWE has officially announced the date and location of this year’s Night of Champions PLE.
It will be the 13th premium live event under the same branding since making its debut in 2001. The event emanated from World Championship Wrestling, which was incidentally the promotion’s last ever episode, where Vince McMahon announced that he had purchased WCW.
Between 2007 and 2015, the pay-per-view was hosted by the Stamford-based company in different cities in the United States. It was revived in 2023, with the hosting rights given to Saudi Arabia.
The 2026 edition of Night of Champions will be the third to be televised from The Kingdom.
Over the last several weeks, reports have claimed that Saudi Arabia might be forced to relinquish PLE hosting rights, including that of WrestleMania 43 next year, due to the ongoing Middle East conflict.
Therefore, the announcement might come as a surprise to many fans, who had been hoping for Saudi Arabia events to return to the United States or any of the Western nations.
The 2026 Night of Champions PLE will return to Kindom Arena in Riyadh on June 27.

What Happened At WWE Night Of Champions 2025?
In the main event of last year’s Night of Champions, John Cena defeated CM Punk to retain his Undisputed Championship.
The PLE also witnessed the crowning of the new King & Queen of the Ring tournaments. In the finals, Cody Rhodes defeated Randy Orton, whereas Jade Cargill beat Asuka, earning world title opportunities at SummerSlam.
It remains to be seen if Triple H & Co. go down a similar path by using Night of Champions as a decisive platform on the road to SummerSlam.
In other matches, Rhea Ripley defeated Raquel Rodriguez in a Riyadh Boulevard Street Fight, while Sami Zayn defeated Karrion Kross in a singles match. Also, Solo Sikoa secured a win over Jacob Fatu after The Samaon Werewolf betrayed him at Money in the Bank.
Saudi Arabia Hosted The Royal Rumble In January
Earlier in the year, Riyadh hosted the Royal Rumble, where Liv Morgan and Roman Reigns won the namesake tournament to earn a title shot at WrestleMania. Both superstars defeated the incumbent champions at the time to win the respective titles.
The event also saw AJ Styles retire in a stipulation match against Gunther, where a loss would force him to leave in-ring competition permanently.
In the meantime, WWE has maintained that Saudi Arabia would host WrestleMania 43 as well. Amid war situations, the Night of Champions in Riyadh will be the test environment for the safety of wrestlers and fans.
