WWE Nixed ODB’s Royal Rumble Appearance

ODB

Former TNA Knockouts Champion ODB has confirmed that she was called to appear at the Royal Rumble – but someone in WWE “turned it down”.

ODB rose to fame in TNA with a run lasting seven years, which included holding the Knockouts Championship on a total of four occasions. She also held the Knockouts Tag Team Championships on one occasion – albeit alongside Eric Young.

Whilst ODB made an appearance as a surprise entrant in AEW’s Casino Battle Royale at All Out in 2019, it would appear that she received the call to appear at WWE’s Royal Rumble showpiece on more than one occasion.

In a discussion on The Two Man Power Trip Of Wrestling Podcast, ODB admitted that she would have loved to appear in the Rumble, however someone higher up seemingly prevented it from happening.

I always wanted to go there. Maybe because you got the Rumble, you know. I did get a call for the Rumble, but it didn’t work out. But that would be cool. I always wanted to drive the food truck into the arena.

They wanted me, but of course a person [in] upper… someone turned it down. But I did get a couple calls.

ODB made a brief return to the now IMPACT Wrestling in 2021, coming to the aid of Jazz and Jordynna Grace when they were being attacked by Deonna Purrazzo, Kimber Lee and Susan.
