WWE Legend Reveals Why He Never Wanted To Wrestle Triple H
A WWE legend has explained why they never wanted to wrestle Triple H.
In the late-90s and early 2000s, Triple H was one of the most sought-after superstars, winning multiple championships in the singles and tag team divisions.
In 2011, he accepted a backstage role, thus phasing out his in-ring appearances, unless required by a major storyline.
Another wrestler in the 1990s at the peak of his career was Bret “The Hitman” Hart.
Hart was a mat technician, originating from the Hart Family Dungeon, who went on to become one of the greatest professional wrestlers of all time.
Despite working in the same promotion for a number of years, Hart and Triple H never had a televised wrestling match in WWE.
During a recent appearance on Inside the Ropes show, the 68-year-old explanied why that is.
I never really rated him. There is not one match that I ever watched of Triple H with anybody that I ever thought was, ‘Ah, that’s a great match.’
I never wanted to wrestle him. I look at every wrestler and go, ‘I could do this with that guy and do this with that guy.’ With Triple H, it was always just a match. Nothing special ever came to my mind. [H/T: Fightful]
WWE Survivor Series 1997 Is Ingrained In Bret Hart
The 1997 Survivor Series not only turned Bret Hart’s life around, but also changed WWE and the wrestling business overall.
The main event match of the pay-per-view between Hart and Shawn Michaels witnessed a work, wherein the predetermined finish was changed mid-match without the knowledge of the Canadian wrestler.
As a result, he lost his WWF Championship in an incident that came to be known as the “Montreal Screwjob.”
The WWE Hall of Famer’s dislike for Triple H stems from the latter playing a significant part in the screwjob.
While he seemed to have mended fences over the incident after returning to the promotion in 2010, it is clear that is not the case.
