Cody Rhodes thought a member of the WWE Bloodline group didn’t respect him because of an in-ring incident.

The Bloodline stable dominated WWE for several years from late 2020 until WrestleMania 30 in 2024, with Roman Reigns leading the way, along with his cousins, The Usos (Jimmy & Jey Uso), and they were guided by the “Wise Man” Paul Heyman, who is a WWE Hall of Famer.

Along the way, The Bloodlined added The Usos younger brother, Solo Siko, and Sami Zayn, who was an “Honorary Uce” with the group. Many people call it one of the best storylines in WWE history, with good reason.

During a recent episode of his “What Do You Wanna Talk About?” podcast, with Jey Uso as the guest, Cody Rhodes discussed an interesting altercation with Solo. Since Cody worked with Reigns at two WrestleManias in a row and many other matches with members of the family, he knows all of them very well. This particular story was about Solo.

“There’s a tag match where he’s in there beating up my partner, and I jumped out on the floor and I start banging the mat, like, getting the people into it, you know?

And he looked at me, and it was like he wanted to rip my head off! He never looks at me that way. I thought, I’m curious what that was.”

After the match, Cody revealed that Solo spoke to him backstage.

“We come to the back and [Solo] goes, ‘Hey, can I chat you up on something?’ And I’m like, ‘Yeah.’ I mean, everything is formal about this, but, ‘absolutely.’ He goes, ‘I don’t really like begging for the cheers. They’ll come.’

And I thought, ‘Yeah, you’re right, because you’ve only ever been with Jimmy, Jey, and Roman. Yeah, you’re right. But buddy, there’s going to be a night when you’re in there with–you’re generic guy A, and I’m generic guy 4, and now, let’s shake ’em up, guys. Let’s give it a 100. There’s going to be a night.’”

Cody Rhodes Legit Wondered If Solo Sikoa Respected Him

As Cody told Jey the story, Jey laughed a lot because Solo is his younger brother. Cody made the point that Solo was put right in the middle of the hot Bloodline story when he debuted on the main roster in September 2022, so Solo didn’t know what it was like to be part of something that wasn’t on fire in the ring.

This led Cody to reveal that he had texted some of his friends about it and had also spoken to WWE’s Chief Content Officer, Paul “Triple H” Levesque, who explained it in a way Cody understood.

“I went home, texting my inner circle, ‘Man, does Solo not respect me?’ I thought about it. I’m supposed to lead him, and he’s telling me?

And then I thought, ‘No, he’s right.’ It was Hunter who finally said, ‘He’s not wrong. Every tag match he’s been in, it was with somebody who was over.’”

Regarding his role in the current WWE landscape, Cody Rhodes is dealing with Drew McIntyre and Jacob Fatu, while his wife Brandi has confirmed his “Raheem” Rhodes nickname is an accurate one.
