WWE Hall Of Famer Would Welcome CM Punk “With Open Arms”

CM Punk WWE Return: The Door Is Not Completely Closed

One WWE Hall of Famer would have no problem welcoming CM Punk back to the locker room.

CM Punk is no longer All Elite following a backstage altercation that got physical with Jack Perry at All In. AEW announced that Punk had been “terminated for cause with immediate effect” as a result of an independent investigation into what went on while Perry remains “suspended indefinitely” according to Tony Khan.

This was, of course, not Punk’s first backstage incident during his time in AEW. The former AEW World Champion became embroiled in a locker room fight with CM Punk at All Out in 2022, an incident that left all parties suspended. Reports have suggested a meeting between the two sides was suggested in the lead-up to All In but that The Elite wanted no part of it.

With CM Punk now out of AEW after two years blighted by injury, the question for many fans is what will Punk do next? A return to WWE could be on the cards but it remains unknown if Punk has to wait out any non-compete period following his firing but could a more unlikely destination realistically attract Punk?

Ricky Morton happy to welcome CM Punk

WWE Hall of Famer Ricky Morton of The Rock ‘N’ Roll Express took to social media to respond to an article where the NWA Worlds Heavyweight Champion discussed the possibility of CM Punk joining that promotion, something Morton seems keen on as he wrote:

“Welcome with open arms. @CMPunk”

It seems unlikely that if CM Punk were to return to the ring it would be for the NWA but stranger things have happened in the wacky world of wrestling.
