CM Punk In “Melee” After All Out

CM Punk

CM Punk had a busy night on Sunday in Chicago, as he became AEW World Champion, lambasted AEW’s EVPs, and was involved in “an altercation” backstage.

At All Out, CM Punk looked to pick himself up after his shocking loss to Jon Moxley and reclaim the AEW World Heavyweight Championship. Thanks to two Go To Sleeps, a bloodied and battered Punk was able to get the better of the Blackpool Combat Club man and become a two-time AEW World Champion in the process. But Punk’s night was far from over.

At the post-show media scrum, CM Punk took aim at Hangman Adam Page as well as the company’s EVPs Kenny Omega and The Young Bucks. His issues with The Elite apparently stem from stories Punk feels were leaked by them in regard to his former friend Colt Cabana’s role in AEW.

Cabana and Punk were former best friends who fell out some years ago as a result of fall out from Punk appearing on Cabana’s Art of Wrestling podcast after he walked out of WWE. The pair were sued by WWE doctor Chris Amann over claims Punk made and ended up filing lawsuits against each other over legal fees. Since Punk joined AEW, Colt Cabana has rarely been seen on AEW television and is now considered part of the Tony Khan-owned Ring of Honor.

Speaking on Wrestling Observer Radio, Bryan Alvarez described “an altercation” taking place after CM Punk left the media scrum and said a security guard was seen running from the room. Dave Meltzer followed up by describing the situation as “a melee” but it is not known if things got physical or all the parties involved.
