WWE Hall Of Famer Set For Return In Unexpected Role

WWE Hall of Famer Trish Stratus had been rumoured for a return to the company and while that is still on the cards, it might not be in the role most expect.

On the 6th of February edition of Monday Night Raw, the main event saw Bayley take on Becky Lynch in a Steel Cage match that was supposed to happen on the 30th anniversary edition of Raw.

Towards the end of the hard-hitting match, Lynch was able to trap the Disarm-her on Bayley on top of the cage but the cavalry was soon on hand as IYO SKY and Dakota Kai sought to help their Damage CTRL partner.

SKY knocked Lynch back into the cage while Kai slid a crutch in to give Bayley a weapon to use. The crowd in Orlando, Florida came unglued however when Lita’s music hit and the four-time WWE Women’s Champion made her way to the ring to help Becky Lynch.

Lita dropped SKY with a Twist of Fate and in the ring, Lynch hit Bayley with the Man-Handle Slam to pick up the victory. Reports suggested that Trish Stratus was waiting in the wings to show up on the next week’s Raw to set up a huge six-woman tag team match at Elimination Chamber, but that didn’t happen for a very good reason.

WRKD Wrestling which originally reported Stratus’ impending return issued an update saying that plans changed due to the injury suffered by Dakota Kai but that the Canadian star will still be back soon:

“Hate to backtrack on our 2nd tweet ever, but plans have changed due to Dakota’s injury and Trish won’t be at Raw tonight. HOWEVER, she is absolutely on her way soon, and we can share that she will be around for a lengthy program. She definitely won’t be in a role most expect…”

Given Kai’s injury and the fact that she and IYO SKY may be busy with WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship business at WrestleMania 39, there is every chance that Trish Stratus could choose to rekindle her rivalry with Lita rather than team with her and form an alliance with Bayley, either way Stratusfaction is sure to be guaranteed.
