WWE Files Trademark Possibly For New Faction

A new group in WWE was recently formed and it appears that their name has been revealed.

On the New Year’s Revolution edition of WWE Smackdown in Vancouver, a new faction made their presence felt. Bobby Lashley and The Street Profits were in the ring doing a promo about their goals for 2024 and how they planned on winning championships.

That promo was interrupted by Karrion Kross and his wife Scarlett. They were joined by WWE Hall of Fame manager Paul Ellering, which led to the AOP duo of Akam & Rezar joining Kross in attacking Lashley and The Street Profits.

AOP (short for Authors of Pain) destroyed The Street Profits with their double team Powerbomb move known as the Super Collider. Kross and AOP posed together over the fallen superstars to celebrate their new union.

There are reports that WWE has trademarked the term “Final Testament” which could be the name of the new faction. That hasn’t been confirmed yet and it’s not official until WWE announces it on television.

“Mark For: FINAL TESTAMENT™ trademark registration is intended to cover the categories of wrestling exhibitions and performances by a professional wrestler and entertainer rendered through broadcast media including television and radio, and via the internet or commercial online service; providing wrestling news and information via a global computer network; providing information in the fields of sports and sports entertainment via an online community portal.”

When Did WWE Re-Sign AOP?

During their WWE careers, AOP’s Akam & Rezar have been WWE Raw Tag Team Champions and NXT Tag Team Champions. Even though they returned to WWE on the first Smackdown episode of 2024, there are reports that AOP re-signed with WWE at some point in late 2022.
