WWE Has Plans For Drew McIntyre Despite Contract Stalemate

Drew McIntyre punches Seth Rollins

A new report has offered more details on Drew McIntyre’s WWE status.

Heading into WrestleMania one of the hottest topics of conversation centred around Drew McIntyre and his contractual status.

It had become something of an open secret that the Scottish star’s contract is due to expire, and he’s yet to agree terms on a new deal. The saga around McIntyre began in early 2023 and shows no sign of slowing.

At WrestleMania, McIntyre actually won the World Championship with a win over Seth Rollins only to lose the gold minutes later to Damian Priest who cashed in his Money In The Bank contract. This coupled with the star’s ongoing feud with CM Punk led some to believe he’s signed a new contract, however, things aren’t quite that simple.

According to a new report from Fightful Select, McIntyre has told those close to him that he’s yet to sign a new deal. Although this isn’t the cause for alarm it might have been during the Vince McMahon era.

With that being said, “there are plans for McIntyre in the company, and they plan on retaining him.” McIntyre’s current deal will expire within the “next few months.”

Although McIntyre has expressed his desire to stay, he remains confident in his ability to succeed elsewhere.

Drew McIntyre Narrowly Avoided Disaster At WrestleMania

McIntyre’s WrestleMania nearly went off the rails before the show even began after the star said that UPS had lost his gear.

In a further post on social media, Jason Baker – the creator of Bray Wyatt’s Fiend mask – revealed that his wife and professional seamstress Mandy June Baker came to Drew McIntyre’s rescue. Baker worked through the night to make sure McIntyre had gear by the time night two of WrestleMania began.
