WWE Doubling Down On Saudi Arabia; More PLEs To Come In 2026

2026 royal rumble wwe

WWE kicked off 2026 in grand fashion by hosting the Royal Rumble in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

It was the first time since its inception in 1988 that the premium live event moved outside North America. Many company insiders believe that the event was a huge success.

PWInsider reports that as a result, the Stamford promotion is planning to host two more major events in the Kingdom this year.

WWE’s deal with Saudi Arabia began in 2018, which specified hosting at least 2 major events in the country.

Despite that, 2025 only featured one PLE—Night of Champions—where John Cena defended his Undisputed Championship against CM Punk in the chaotic main event.

The promotion has yet to finalize all the special shows for the year, giving it the chance to add a couple of more events to be hosted by Saudi Arabia.

Fans can expect the news to drop once the company finalizes its other global premium live events schedule. Before Saudi Arabia, WWE toured Europe in early 2026.

Liv Morgan & Roman Reigns Win Big At WWE Royal Rumble

The customary women’s and men’s Royal Rumble matches were the highlight of the January 31 premium live event, where Liv Morgan and Roman Reigns scored big wins.

Morgan won the women’s match for the first time in 9 appearances, whereas Reigns returned for the first time since November to win the men’s Rumble match.

On the February 2 Raw episode, both superstars had the chance to reveal which champion they would choose at WWE WrestleMania 42 as their opponent.

While Morgan decided to weigh her options, even claiming that she could visit SmackDown to test the waters, Reigns cut a fiery promo as he selected CM Punk as his opponent for the World Heavyweight Championship.
