WWE And TNA Hall Of Famer D-Von Dudley Explains Why He’s Doing One More Match

The legendary Dudley Boyz, aka Team 3D, are having at least one more match, and D-Von Dudley has explained why he wants to do it.

At TNA Slammiversary, the legendary Hardy Boys team of Matt & Jeff Hardy won the TNA Tag Team Titles in an incredible ladder match.

After the match was over, WWE & TNA Hall of Famer Bubba Ray Dudley, aka Bully Ray, approached the Hardys in the ring and suggested that the two legendary teams have one more match at TNA Bound for Glory on October 12th. The Hardys agreed to the match.

Bully Ray’s partner is fellow WWE & TNA Hall of Famer D-Von Dudley, who goes by the name of Brother D-Von outside of WWE. D-Von was absent from Slammiversary due to a personal matter, but he is training hard for Bound for Glory.

While speaking on his official YouTube channel, D-Von addressed the Bound for Glory match and why he still has that itch to compete.

“Some of you are probably wondering, why am I doing this? Why am I doing this one more match? In 2016, when we did our departure from the WWE, I still had some left in the tank. There was always that itch that I felt that I had to scratch. And that was to get back in the ring and have my last match.

So, what better place than to have my last match, my last hurrah. And I will say this, it will be my last. What better place than TNA? I’m doing it for my kids. They get a chance to see their dad do something that he loved and they could say they were there. God is in my corner.

So again, it’s my way of saying thank you to the fans for putting us where we are today and being able to give that one last hurrah for you.”

D-Von Dudley Is Ready To Wrestle Again Thanks To A Significant Weight Loss

As he continued, D-Von spoke about having undergone back surgery and losing a significant amount of weight.

“I got my back surgery in 2021 and the rehab was no joke. I spent literally about a year, maybe a year and a half of doing rehab. The pain got a little bit more intense. And after it got more intense, I kind of got up to about almost 300 pounds.

That was when I called Dallas (Diamond Dallas Page). I said, ‘Dallas, I need your help.’ He gave me his DDPY. I downloaded it, did everything they told me to do. I started to feel the body change. I went from almost 300 lb to 227.

I also called Randy Orton because I heard Randy had the same back surgery that I did. He told me, he goes, ‘D-Von,’ he goes, ‘I go out there and I take care of myself. I think smart. I don’t do the stuff that I used to do that I had no care for my body.’ So, if you ever plan on getting back, D-Von, that’s the way you got to think. Think smart.”

The rivalry between The Hardy Boyz and Dudley Boyz (or Team 3D) dates back to 1999, but the teams had their breakout matches in 2000, including the first Tag Team Table match in WWE history. They are also remembered as pioneers of the Tag Team Ladder and Tables, Ladders & Chairs matches.
