WWE Hall Of Famer Critical Of Chris Jericho AEW Dynamite Segment

Chris Jericho AEW Promo

A wrestling legend didn’t feel like a recent Chris Jericho segment on AEW Dynamite was as good as it could have been.

Chris Jericho is one of the oldest and most experienced wrestlers in AEW that happens to be the first World Champion in company history. For over five years, Jericho has enjoyed working with younger talent and doing his best to try to elevate them.

On AEW Dynamite in Indianapolis, Chris Jericho was part of an in-ring segment with FTW Champion Hook and his father Taz, who is a wrestling legend who works for AEW as an announcer. Jericho pleaded with Hook to let Jericho help him because Jericho claims that he can help get Hook to the top of the business. Hook shot that down with a simple “no” response.

As the promo continued, Jericho said that Hook was not ready and he was not as good as he thought he was. When Taz spoke, Jericho shoved Taz into the ropes and the fans booed. Hook got in Jericho’s face and shoved him into the turnbuckle. Hook told Jericho he’ll show him how good he is. It was later announced that Hook will face Jericho at AEW Dynasty.

Bully Ray (aka Bubba Ray Dudley) is a WWE & TNA Hall of Famer who knows Jericho and Taz well. Bully also works on the Busted Open Radio where he said the segment wasn’t very effective while saying that Taz should have had a different approach.

“Just walking up to Jericho and be like ‘Hey, man, you’re laying it on a little too thick. You’re laying it on a little too heavy.’ (…) That approach from Taz would have meant so much more.”

The Hall of Famer continued by noting that after Taz was knocked down, Hook didn’t even check on his fallen father.

“Hook never goes back over to check on his dad. (…) I would have loved to have seen Hook go over to his father, at least afterwards, to show concern.”

That led to Bully suggesting what AEW could have done with Hook to end the segment.

“If Hook went over to Taz, helped him up, and then slowly turned around? That arena, that hot Arena in Indianapolis with those rabid AEW fans would have been like ‘Hook is gonna kill you!’ I just got goosebumps even thinking about it.”
