WWE Champion Taken Out Following Brutal Title Match On NXT
Tonight’s episode of WWE NXT was scheduled to feature two huge title matches, one each for the men’s and women’s divisions, as they continue building up the newer stars.
The NXT Women’s North American Championship, currently held by Tatum Paxley, has been the subject of major feuds over the last few weeks, with the likes of Lizzy Rain and Zaria looking to challenge for the title.
Rain, who debuted on the NXT brand with a win over Nikita Lyons, teamed up with Paxley last week to defeat the team of Lyons and Zaria, after she decided to leave Nikita alone in the ring.
As Lizzy Rain picked up the win for her team, Tatum Paxley agreed to give her a shot at the Women’s North American Championship, and the two women met each other tonight in a title match.
Tatum Paxley lay out on WWE NXT
Both wrestlers picked up the momentum at various points during the match, with Tatum Paxley giving it her all to retain the title. Lizzy continued to fight Paxley as the WWE Champion tried to take control of the match.
They pushed each other to the limit and continued to trade blows for most of the bout. They knew their styles so well that they were head-to-head, hitting the same moves in succession.
Ultimately, Lizzy took control of the match after much trying and reached a two-count with a vicious Samoan Drop. Paxley tried to get back in the match but was taken out with a flying headbutt from Rain.

Paxley and Rain kept trapping each other in pin attempts before Tatum found an opportunity to get out of the predicament and hit the Cemetery Drive on Lizzy Rain to retain the belt. The two women hugged in the ring following the win.
However, their warm moment was sabotaged by Zaria, who took them out with a double spear from out of nowhere before hitting them with multiple Spears once again to pose with the Women’s NA Title in the ring.
