“Who Is Writing This Cr*p?” – WWE Blasted Over Roman Reigns & CM Punk Storyline

This WWE veteran lambasted the writing staff for the way they have been going about executing the top feud for WrestleMania 42.

Roman Reigns won the Royal Rumble match on January 31st and earned his shot to face one of the top two Champions in WWE.

He chose World Heavyweight Champion CM Punk as his opponent. Punk and Reigns have some history as The Second City Saint was associated with Paul Heyman when Reigns entered the main roster with the S.H.I.E.L.D faction in the 2010s. The S.H.I.E.L.D and Punk initially worked together but went up against each other when Punk turned babyface.

But when Punk took a 10-year hiatus from WWE starting in 2014, Roman Reigns went on to be one of the company’s biggest stars and was even the face of the company for the majority of the past decade and the early 2020s.

This meant that the rivalry building up for WrestleMania 42 had spice, and it showed when Punk and Reigns cut their first promo in February that pleased critics and audiences for its high intensity and drama.

The second promo came about a few weeks later when the two traded barbs once again, and this time it got personal with Punk making a below-the-belt remark about Reigns’ late father.

However, because of that remark, Reigns’ cousins The Usos got involved, asking Punk to apologise in the following week’s Raw episode, and when Punk refused to, he got socked on the face.

The fourth segment saw Reigns call Punk old, which angered him, and he ended up punching Reigns in the face.

On the latest episode of Raw, The Usos confronted Punk again (Especially an angered Jey Uso), and things got chaotic when Reigns came in, and Punk continued to taunt them all, which in turn got him in trouble as Jey and later Reigns attacked him and eventually put him through the announcer’s desk.

WWE Veteran Tommy Carlucci Slams Writers For Roman Reigns Vs CM Punk Storyline

Many fans and analysts believe that the feud had picked up steam, but repetitive segments over the past few weeks have diluted it.

WWE veteran Tommy Carlucci shared his opinion on former WWE star Johnathan Coachman’s channel, Behind The Turnbuckle Studios.

Carlucci talked about how Reigns entered the ring really late in the closing moments of the latest Raw episode and didn’t even have a word with Punk because The Usos had already done that. He said that the feud and story made no progress this week and called WWE out for “crap” writing.

That storyline with the family and the bloodline was two years ago with Cody and the Rock. And who cares about the Bloodline anymore? It’s about Roman and Punk. Do you know what time Roman came out? I looked. 10:25.

10:25. They flew this guy privately to Boston and brought him out 10:25. Are you freaking kidding me? He comes out slow looking on the mat this and that. He didn’t even talk to Punk.

Didn’t even talk to him. He went to his brothers, his cousins, and said, “Get the hell out of my ring.” And then what

does Jay do? He attacks Punk. And by the way, at that point, he’s down. I don’t care what Roman does about Punk. Oh, did he want Punk because Punk punched him?

You guys tell me in the chat. And Gabby, you could tell me where the freak did this main event level up this week.

Nowhere. Not one. Oh, Punk looked up and he was smiling cuz he put him through the table. What are we going to do at Madison Square Garden? Go on 34th Street and have him fight with the Usos there.

Man, who is writing this crap? It is just horrible. And something and something has to be done because I can care one iota because I know at Wrestlemania Roman is beating Punk and is going to be the champ. Unbelievable. (1:49 onwards)
