Brock Lesnar’s Final Opponent Could Be None Other Than 250 Lb WWE Superstar
Brock Lesnar will eventually retire, and this WWE analyst believes one star could definitely be his last opponent.
Brock Lesnar has been in wrestling for over two decades now.
Lesnar debuted as “The Next Big Thing” in 2002 and did in the span of two years what most wrestlers don’t manage to do in their whole careers.
He was immediately placed as the top dog in the company and enjoyed 3 runs as WWE Champion in his short term with them.
Lesnar left WWE to pursue other things after WrestleMania 20 in 2004, but the Stamford-based promotion didn’t elude him for long.
Every time he would return for a stint, he would make a major impact before leaving to pursue other ventures, like competing in UFC (Ultimate Fighting Championship). Brock Lesnar has become a household name in WWE alongside long-term manager Paul Heyman and holds the major honor of ending The Undertaker’s WrestleMania winning streak and making it 21-1.
His next course of action will be to face the towering newcomer Oba Femi at WrestleMania 42.
In a recent interview with Spittin’ Chiclets, Lesnar opened up about things like the difficult period he had between 2004 and 2006 upon leaving WWE, and even touched upon the fact that his current run will only be for a short time, citing that he got back to work to “feed his kids.”
This sparked discussions about when Lesnar will be retiring from wrestling, and when he does, who his last opponent could be.
Sam Roberts Thinks Gunther Could Be Brock Lesnar’s Final Opponent
Gunther has officially been labelled The Career Killer by WWE and has retired legends like AJ Styles, John Cena, and Goldberg in the past 8 months alone.
WWE Analyst Sam Roberts, in an interview with Chris Van Vliet on Insight, said that if WWE doesn’t typecast Gunther into simply retiring people, which would make his gimmick predictable, he could serve as a good final opponent for Brock Lesnar.
A match between The Ring General and The Beast Incarnate has seemingly been on the minds of WWE creative, but they were likely waiting for Gunter to be a big enough star before pulling the trigger on the match. Roberts thinks that if Gunther’s character expands beyond just retiring people, being Brock Lesnar’s final opponent would be a good idea.
Here’s my thing about Gunther. He could. I mean, I think it’d be great. Again, I think there’s more to Gunther than what’s cut and dry. I think he could retire Brock Lesnar. But I think the idea should be that Gunther has the ability to retire people. But number one, he doesn’t retire everybody.
And number two, he does more than just retire people, you know, because I think if you go, okay, everybody’s retirement match is against Gunther, it becomes ok, we know what happens here. We’re doing the same thing over and over again. I think that for me, it’s almost like, if he is the guy to retire Brock Lesnar, which he could be, and it would be great,” Roberts said
