Ex-WWE Star Says Bella Twins Didn’t Want Her On Total Divas

A former WWE superstar had some heat with The Bella Twins because of Total Divas.

Total Divas was a WWE-produced “reality show” that aired on E! from 2013 to 2019, and it also led to a spinoff series called Total Bellas, featuring The Bella Twins, which ran for a few years as well. The show followed WWE superstars in the ring and out of the ring while showing their private lives with significant others and family members.

Multiple WWE women, like The Bella Twins’ Brie Bella, Natalya, Naomi, and others, got married on episodes of Total Divas. Nikki Bella’s long-term relationship with top WWE superstar John Cena was also featured a lot, but the two didn’t get married, even though

The former WWE superstar Mandy Rose spoke to actor Nick Turturro of Prince St. Pizza about joining Total Divas in 2016 after appearing on Tough Enough in 2015. While other women on Total Divas were already established WWE stars, Rose was still a “rookie” who hadn’t received much wrestling training. Because of that, Rose mentioned women like The Bella Twins didn’t like that Rose was on the show so early in her career.

Mandy: “I think it kind of jump-started my career, so I’m like really blessed to be on that because that really helped. But it was a little intense and intimidating because the women, like the Bella Twins, they had been doing this for like 10-plus years. And I jump in and I’m young and I don’t know how to wrestle. And they’re looking at me and judging me.”

Nick: “You never wrestled?”

Mandy: “No. Never wrestled. And they’re like, ‘Oh you need to train. You need to learn to wrestle.’ And I’m like, ‘I am. I’m gonna learn how to wrestle.’ They didn’t love the idea that they (WWE ) gave me this opportunity because it was a bit of a jumpstart. It’s whatever – it’s how women are, right? So, but it made for good TV. It made for good drama.

But it worked out and I ended up being on one season of the show. And then I had to go train. It was too crazy the schedule, to like do both.”

The Bella Twins Have Their Eyes On Tag Team Gold

Nikki Bella has been back on WWE TV regularly since early 2025, and Brie Bella made her official return during the 2026 Women’s Royal Rumble match.

Regarding their future in WWE, Brie Bella made it clear that they want to win the WWE Women’s Tag Team Titles, which didn’t exist when the Bellas were full-time members of the roster.

When Nikki and I both fully retired, there was no WWE Women’s Tag Team Title. So, when I saw that come, I’m like, “That was meant for us.” And so, for me now, it’s like I really want for The Bella Twins to go after those titles.

On the February 2nd edition of WWE Monday Night Raw in Philly, The Bella Twins did a promo in the ring about wanting to win the Women’s Tag Team Titles. It sounds like a goal they are focused on, so the current champions, Rhea Ripley & Iyo Sky, and other teams need to remember the Bellas are coming for them.
