WWE Reportedly Facing Backstage Tension Ahead Of WrestleMania 42
WrestleMania is WWE’s biggest event of the year. However, according to recent reports, the company is facing significant tension behind the scenes as WrestleMania 42 approaches.
Reports suggest that there has been a noticeable slump in ticket sales for the event. Combined sales for both nights of WrestleMania 42 are reportedly significantly lower than those for WrestleMania 41 last year.
In addition, there is reportedly a lot of chaos within the creative department, which has led to frequent changes to the match card. Top-level stars such as Gunther and Brock Lesnar reportedly still do not have finalized opponents for the event.
WWE Reportedly Struggling With WrestleMania 42 Graphics
A new report from WrestleVotes on Fightful Select on March 12, 2026, has also revealed that WWE is dealing with an identity crisis regarding the event’s visual branding. According to the report, the team responsible for designing WrestleMania’s visual assets has expressed growing frustration due to a lack of clear direction from leadership.
Initially, the company was aiming for a “high-end, classy vibe” theme for the event. However, due to multiple changes and the absence of a finalized creative direction, the designers reportedly had to redo graphics and promotional materials several times.

There has been more news regarding WrestleMania 42 over the past week. Recently, WWE had implemented a ban on WrestleMania watch parties, prohibiting commercial screenings of the event within 50 miles of Allegiant Stadium.
However, according to Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Select, WWE received pushback from local businesses regarding the decision. Due to the backlash, WWE ultimately decided to reverse the ban, allowing businesses in the area to host WrestleMania watch parties again.
In other related news, it was also recently reported that WWE is in talks with Jelly Roll about making a possible appearance at WrestleMania this year.
