WWE Reportedly Considering Major Changes To WrestleMania 42 Card
WWE is still working on preparing the WrestleMania 42 match card, but it needs to be optimized enough to urge fans to buy tickets.
The company has been struggling to boost ticket sales for the premium live event, even though some of the top names in WWE have been advertised for the event.
WWE has even confirmed Roman Reigns vs. CM Punk and Cody Rhodes vs. Randy Orton for WrestleMania 42 to try to increase sales, but it isn’t working out as hoped.
WWE is aiming to bring in stipulations for WrestleMania 42 matches
According to WrestleVotes Radio, the Stamford-based promotion is considering adding “natural adjustments” to the match card. One specific adjustment is to add stipulations to the marquee matches. WWE officials aren’t trying to overwhelm the card with stipulations, but rather adjust it strategically to ensure viewership for the premium live event.
The goal is to have viewers move from watching the preview segment on television to paying for the subscription for the full broadcast on ESPN.
The global juggernaut is considering adding an exciting stipulation to the opening match of the show, which can be aired during the preview. This can serve as a hook for the viewers to stay around for the remainder of the show being broadcast on ESPN.
There has already been a call for a media blackout with a 50-mile radius of Allegiant Stadium for WrestleMania 42 weekend.
