WWE In Discussion With Major Celebrity For WrestleMania 42 Appearance
WWE is no stranger to adding celebrities into the mix for WrestleMania, and they are reportedly in talks with one for this year.
The company has had a long history of crossovers from the broader landscape of popular culture.
Many famous actors, athletes, and musicians have tried their hand at an angle or a singular appearance as an attraction on WWE TV over the years.
Notable musicians on the list include Snoop Dogg, Bad Bunny, Ice-T, Cyndi Lauper, and Jelly Roll.
Jelly Roll has had some history with the Stamford-based promotion, and he most recently popped up in a pre-recorded video on the March 6 episode of SmackDown, where he can be seen congratulating Elimination Chamber winner Randy Orton, and he even commented on the Cody Rhodes and Drew McIntyre WWE Championship situation.
The episode also confirmed his appearance on next week’s SmackDown.
WWE Reportedly In Talks With Jelly Roll For An Appearance At WrestleMania 42
Jelly Roll has been involved previously with the wrestling juggernaut. He was Randy Orton’s tag team partner in a match against Drew McIntyre and Logan Paul at SummerSlam last year.
Although Paul and McIntyre won the bout, Jelly Roll’s performance impressed company officials as he was willing to take bumps and do dangerous spots.
He and fellow musician Teddy Swims have also made an appearance in TNA: No Surrender, only adding to Jelly Roll’s credentials.
A new report has come from WrestleVotes Radio on Fightful Select about ongoing discussions WWE is having with Jelly Roll that can lead to an appearance at Mania 42. Sources indicated that Jelly Roll has received praise from WWE officials for his professionalism and enthusiasm for the business.
With another rapper, Travis Scott, appearing at last year’s WrestleMania as part of John Cena’s now infamous heel turn, WWE could well look at making Jelly Roll a highlight for this year’s Showcase of the Immortals.
