Will Ospreay Left Hurt By Triple H Shot

Will Ospreay poses on AEW Dynamite

Will Ospreay doesn’t hate Triple H.

On the April 10, 2024, episode of Dynamite, Will Ospreay reacted to a dig at AEW talent from Triple H during WrestleMania weekend. After The Game said some didn’t want to “grind” to be with WWE, Ospreay said Triple H was only in the position he is because he’d been “grinding” on the boss’s daughter.

Although no names were mentioned, it was clear both men were referring to each other.

The comments came after Ospreay chose to sign with AEW instead of WWE when he decided to leave New Japan Pro-Wrestling. Key to Ospreay’s decision was his desire to remain in the UK with his partner and stepson, something that wouldn’t be possible with WWE.

Will Ospreay Has Never Met Triple H

During a new interview with Chris Van Vliet, Ospreay reflected on the verbal sparring and revealed he’s never actually met Triple H in person.

“He didn’t say my name. He was [talking about me]. I’ve got people that I won’t throw under the bus saying, Yeah, it was about me. I’m not taking it personally like, Oh, that hurt my feelings. It’s just kind of like, all right, you take a jab at me, I’ll take one back. There’s nothing horrible about it. I don’t hate the guy. I’ve never met him. How can I hate someone that I’ve never even met?

Ospreay explained that contact between himself and Triple H was made through his agent before admitting he was left hurt by the comments. However, he again downplayed the idea that there’s any lingering or personal animosity.

[Have you even talked to him?] No, I’ve never spoken to him, I got an agency who talks to everyone. I’ve told everybody about my situation and why I want to remain in the UK, which is why that kind of hurt me a little bit, but not to the point where it keeps me up at night. I was like, Okay, you took a jab at me, I’ll take one back, and then that’s it. We’re done.”

During the same interview with Van Vliet, the star expressed his desire to bring the AEW locker room together as a team while stating that the promotion has changed his life.

Will Ospreay will be back in action at Revolution on March 9 when he faces Kyle Fletcher in a Steel Cage Match.
