Although he’s had the opportunity once recently, IWGP United States Champion Will Ospreay would love to batter Kenny Omega again but can see both sides of a potential clash.
Having given each other plenty of abuse via social media, Will Ospreay and Kenny Omega finally stepped inside the squared circle opposite each other in the semi-finals of the AEW Trios Championship tournament, with The Best Bout Machine’s side coming out on top and eventually winning the titles, only to be stripped of them a few days later following the aftermath of All Out.
This may have seen Omega get the last laugh on that occasion, but a one on one match between the pair would still be highly coveted.
In a discussion with James Carlin of Monthly Puroreso, Will Ospreay has made it clear that facing Kenny Omega would be sensible, although he did get the last laugh on that occasion.
He knows one on one it would be a fantastic bout and I can’t tell you enough how much I’d enjoy battering him after everything. The two sides of me are saying: I got the last laugh leaving him and The Young Bucks laying in AEW, so I don’t really care. But the other side says we are both still able to put on those amazing matches still. It’ll almost be stupid of me not to want to face him. See which one of us has the drive to pick up the win.
The only time Will Ospreay and Kenny Omega have done battle in a singles match was back in 2015, where Omega picked up the win as part of PWG’s All Star Weekend.
