Will John Cena Get Physical At WWE WrestleMania 42?
John Cena’s role at WWE WrestleMania 42 has been confirmed.
The Leader of the Cenation returned to the Stamford-based company in January 2025 to embark on a retirement tour. The Never Seen 17th final run ended last December with his defeat to Gunther at Saturday Night’s Main Event.
Despite retiring from in-ring competition, Cena has been vocal about being in talks with the company for a new role. On Monday, the wrestling legend took to social media to announce his return to host WrestleMania 42.
John Cena Allegedly Wouldn’t Get Physical At WWE WrestleMania
Since John Cena’s announcement, many fans have been speculating whether The Last Real Champion would get physical at the Show of Shows despite his retirement from in-ring competition.
Speaking on The Last Word podcast, former WWE employee Tommy Carlucci addressed the topic, claiming that Cena would not engage in any physical altercations at WrestleMania.
I think they brought Cena in for a reason to host, star power. Makes people wanna say, ‘Oh, I wanna go to this show. He’s hosting it. We haven’t seen him in a little bit here. What else?’ Then people start speculating, ‘Oh, is he gonna get into it here or there?’ He’s not gonna have any physicality at all. Definitely not gonna happen. [9:27 onwards]
