WWE RAW General Manager has officially announced that Gunther will face Seth Rollins at WrestleMania 42.

Following his victory over Dragon Lee earlier this month, Gunther went missing from WWE TV amid rumors that he was supposed to have a program with Rey Mysterio heading into WrestleMania before the Hall of Famer was sidelined with an injury.

Meanwhile, Seth Rollins returned after months of absence at Elimination Chamber to go after his former faction, The Vision.

After being arrested last week for violating a restraining order filed by Paul Heyman, The Visionary returned to RAW last night after the Boston police dropped all charges against him. Pearce also informed The Oracle that Rollins has now been cleared to compete.

Following the announcement, Rollins attacked Heyman with a chair. However, he was ambushed by Gunther before he delivered a stomp to The Wiseman.

WWE Was Forced To Change WrestleMania Plans Due To Injuries

In an interview with Jackie Redmond later on RAW, Adam Pearce disclosed that Rollins was pissed and looking for a receipt on The Ring General. He then announced that the two superstars will go head-to-head at WrestleMania 42.

Speaking on the post-RAW show, Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful addressed the WrestleMania announcement, disclosing the real reason why the company booked the match between Gunther and The Visionary.

What we’re seeing is the adjustment for Rey Mysterio being sidelined with an injury, which was GUNTHER’s plan, and Bron Breakker, despite being backstage, still being sidelined — and that was Seth Rollins’s plan. So, you put them together, and there you go. [H/T: Ringside News]
