CM Punk was spotted in Orlando earlier today, and a new report reveals why.
After being released from his AEW contract following an altercation with Jack Perry at All In, speculation has been swirling that CM Punk could make a long-awaited return to WWE. While one report called it a “safe bet” that Punk would be appearing at Survivor Series in Chicago, IL, further reports have stated that the two sides are not in talks, and that WWE had in fact turned down Punk’s attempts to return.
Speculation intensified today, however, when a report from PWInsider revealed that CM Punk had been spotted in Orlando, FL, the home of the WWE Performance Center. One fan who works at Universal Studios wrote to PWInsider with the following information:
“I just wanted to let you all know that I saw CM Punk and Ace Steel while I was at work at Universal Studios earlier today. So he’s in Orlando …”
Was CM Punk At The WWE Performance Center?
Fightful Select provides more information on the situation, noting that while Punk is indeed in Orlando, he’s not visited the WWE Performance Center. Punk will be commentating a Cage Fury Fighting Championship show tonight in Tampa, which is about two hours away from Orlando.
Fightful also confirms that Ace Steel was with CM Punk and notes that Steel lives in Florida. Prior to his own release from AEW, there had been talk of Steel starting an AEW training facility in the area.
