Update On When Matt Riddle Might Return To WWE

Matt Riddle

Matt Riddle has been absent from WWE since early December and with the Royal Rumble coming up, a new report has given an update on when he might return to the ring.

Former WWE United States and Raw Tag Team Champion Matt Riddle has been off television he was attacked and storyline-injured by Solo Sikoa on the December 5th episode of Raw.

Shortly after the angle to write Riddle off TV, there was a report noting that Riddle failed a second drug test and that meant WWE wanted to go to rehab, which Riddle did.

It was reported by the Wrestling Observer Newsletter this week that Riddle is now out of rehab. However, it’s unknown if he is suspended for two months for the second failed drug test or if he has been out for long enough that he is going to be brought back for the Royal Rumble this Saturday.

If Matt Riddle is suspended for two months since the angle that took place on December 5th then that means he won’t be able to be in the Royal Rumble match and would have to wait until the first week of February to make his return to TV.

Here’s a photo of Riddle getting his BJJ black belt, which he posted on his Instagram account on January 26th.

Congratulations to Matt Riddle getting his BJJ black belt as well as his note about how he couldn’t be happier. The WWE Royal Rumble takes place this Saturday, January 28th at the Alamodome in San Antonio. Tune in to see if Riddle will be a part of it.
