What John Cena Told Lyra Valkyria After Disastrous WWE Match Revealed

Lyra Valkyria had a disastrous match at WWE SummerSlam 2025.

The young Irish wrestler faced Becky Lynch for the Women’s Intercontinental Championship at The Biggest Party of the Summer.

There were certain moments in the match that did not go as planned, and some slips that were caught by the camera. Lyra Valkyria confessed to not being able to react to the issues during the match like she was expected to.

John Cena tried to console Lyra Valkyria

Following the match, Becky Lynch was disappointed that it did not deliver what it was supposed to. While she was angry, she did not take it out on Valkyria despite the former Women’s Intercontinental Champion asking Lynch to yell at her.

On WWE Unreal season 2 episode 5, footage shows Valkyria backstage and John Cena approaching her to tell her that some of the things she agreed to were brilliant, and the match was way better than she thinks.

That sh*t with the chair? There’s no f***ing way I’d have ever said yes to that. Like, that sh*t was violent and brutal. And now we got Bayley back in the fray, and now it’s like, mixed emotions and sh*t. Like, it’s way better than you think.

Lyra Valkyria was seen bawling her eyes out after the match, but she acknowledged that no one has had a perfect streak and she needs to move on from this experience and focus on the next one.
