W. Morrissey Makes AEW Debut On Dynamite

W. Morrissey walks to ring

IMPACT Wrestling star W. Morrissey made his AEW debut on the latest edition of Dynamite, taking on Wardlow.

For the May 4th episode of AEW Dynamite, it was announced that Wardlow would be facing a mystery opponent. Once he made his way to the ring, flanked by security as per MJF’s instructions, the leader of The Pinnacle appeared on the stage and revealed that the opponent was none other than IMPACT star W. Morrissey.

The match itself was a hard-hitting affair with neither of the two powerhouses giving ground. In the end, it was Wardlow who took the win, after picking up the IMPACT Star for a huge Powerbomb and the pinfall victory.

Following the match, Mr. Mayhem laid out the security guards who had reappeared to escort him from the ring, then took a microphone and called out MJF. Wardlow said it didn’t matter how many people MJF sent to get in his way, he would keep knocking them over until he was free of his contract.

MJF said he would be happy to have a match with the star, but said he would be adding some extra details during a contract signing next week.

W. Morrissey is likely best known for his time in WWE, where he competed under the name ‘Big Cass’. Morrissey joined the company in 2011, initially appearing in Florida Championship which later became NXT.

In 2013, he formed a tag team with Enzo Amore and the two quickly became one of the most popular teams in NXT. They were then called up to the main roster in 2016. After the two split in 2018, neither found much success as singles stars and Morrissey was released that June.

Following his departure from WWE, Morrissey made numerous appearances for independent promotions before signing with IMPACT Wrestling in April 2021.
