Vince McMahon May Return To WWE, But He Won’t Come Alone

Vince McMahon is rumored to be making a WWE comeback two years after his exit.

The former chairman initially retired from the Stamford-based company in 2022, leaving Stephanie McMahon as the new WWE Chairwoman and co-CEO, alongside Nick Khan.

Nevertheless, Vince returned in January 2023 to become the company’s Executive Chairman. Upon his comeback, his daughter resigned from her position.

After selling WWE to Endeavor, Vince continued to serve as executive chairman of TKO until January 2024, when he stepped down amid being sued for alleged sexual assault and sex trafficking by former employee Janel Grant.

Will Vince McMahon Return To WWE With An “Evil Team”?

As Chief Content Officer Triple H faces heavy criticism over the current booking of WWE’s programs, rumors have suggested that TKO may bring back Vince McMahon.

Speaking on his 83 Weeks podcast, WWE Hall of Famer Eric Bischoff proposed a scenario where Vince could return to the company alongside an “Evil Team,” which would include his son, Shane. Bischoff even suggested he could be part of the former chairman’s faction.

From a storyline point of view, can you imagine the fun we could have with this? You got the Evil Vince Team coming in. Kinda like, you know, now is a chance to really do the nWo thing, but really f**king do it, right? You got Shane over here. Come on, we’ve seen a lot more Vince & Shane lately.

I think that whole thing’s a little more interesting now storyline-wise than it would have been a couple years ago or was actually. You got this cat named Eric Bischoff over here. You got a couple months worth of value out of that part of the story. Vince could put together his evil team of Vince supporters.

In fact, he wouldn’t even need me. He’s got enough people out there that could make that story really fun and interesting. Would the audience accept it? I don’t know. Might be a little too soon. But just for a fun, you know, over a couple beers and a piece of pizza, it’s a fun idea to talk about. [36:54 onwards]
