A new report has given some more details on Drew McIntyre missing the next edition of Raw.

McIntyre made an impact on his return at Money In The Bank in London, confronting Gunther after the Austrian star had a successful Intercontinental Championship defence against Matt Riddle. McIntyre made his way to the ring and stared Gunther down before dropping him with a Glasgow Kiss and a Claymore.

The Scottish Warrior has continued his rivalry with the Intercontinental Champion ever since, most recently teaming with Riddle to defeat Imperium’s Ludwig Kaiser and Giovanni Vinci. However, the feud will now take a brief hiatus.

PWInsider reported on July 11th that McIntyre will not appear on the next episode of Raw as he will be filming a new movie, The Killer’s Game, which also features Dave Bautista and Ice Cube.

Now, they have added to the report, explaining that the former WWE Champion was approached for the movie and sought permission from WWE to take the role. While it has been confirmed he will be filming next week, it is currently unknown if he will miss any more time due to the project.

The synopsis for the film, courtesy of Deadline, is as follows:

Based on Jay Bonansinga’s novel, the film is written by Rand Ravich and Simon Kinberg, with recent rewrites by James Coyne. The film follows veteran assassin Joe Flood (Bautista), who is diagnosed with a life-threatening illness and authorizes a kill on himself to avoid the pain that is destined to follow. After ordering the kill, he finds out that he was misdiagnosed and must then fend off the army of former colleagues trying to kill him.

When McIntyre returns to action, it is expected he will continue his feud with Gunther and it is thought the two will clash for the Intercontinental Championship at SummerSlam.
