Unfortunate Update On Asuka’s WWE Status After Bidding Goodbye On RAW
Following her Backlash loss to IYO SKY, Asuka appeared emotional as she reconciled with her long-standing rival and protege.
However, there was more to what met the eye, as fans wondered if the Japanese veteran wrestler had called it a career.
Later, multiple reports emerged about Asuka’s WWE status, each different from the other, leaving fans to wait for further clarification.
Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer claimed in a report that the 44-year-old was now semi-retired. On the other hand, Bodyslam pushed back on Meltzer’s report, claiming that according to their source, she was ‘out indefinitely’ for personal reasons.
On the latest episode of Monday Night Raw (May 11), she was featured in a backstage segment with SKY, where she passed on the baton to her protege while stating that she was proud of SKY.
SKY then bid her goodbye, as the camera showed Asuka leave the building with her luggage in tow.
Asuka Has Returned To Japan
Amid speculations, the official reason why Asuka decided to take a break from wrestling is a mystery.
Regardless, Dave Meltzer provided another update on the former WWE Women’s Champion, confirming that she had left for her home country of Japan for a family-related business.
Nothing else is clear as far as if she should come back or if she does, will her role be different.
