Only Two Ways WWE Can Allegedly Save WrestleMania; Vince McMahon Is One
WWE WrestleMania 42 is just two days away.
At present, the card contains 13 matches across two nights—April 18 & 19—with Cody Rhodes & Randy Orton and CM Punk & Roman Reigns headlining them, respectively.
Since last year, the wrestling promotion has been dealing with a major problem that has carried over to 2026 and has shown no signs of easing, which is the price of tickets.
The skyrocketing ticket prices have poked holes in the pockets of regular attendees as well as new fans. It is one of the hotly discussed topics in the industry today, with several AEW superstars taking a jibe at it, too.
The likes of Vince Russo have compared the modern-day operations of WWE to the bygone days when Vince McMahon was in charge. The former head of creative has claimed that McMahon would always prioritize entertainment before money, unlike his son-in-law, Triple H.
On last week’s episode of WWE SmackDown, Pat McAfee even revealed that he had partnered with RAM Trucks, the official sponsor of WrestleMania 42, announcing a 25% limited-time discount on WrestleMania 42 tickets.
According to a tweet by WrestleTix, more than 2,000 tickets were sold for Saturday night, whereas 600 extra tickets were sold for Sunday.

WWE Can Save WrestleMania 42 In One Of Two Ways
The WWE insiders, including the talent, have been well aware of the poor ticket sales for WrestleMania 42.
Since the turn of the new year, the company’s creative team has altered the card more than once in the hopes that more people would buy tickets. Reportedly, the higher-ups even proposed adding stipulations to multiple matches and air them during the first hour, which will be available on ESPN in the United States.
Elsewhere, Vince Russo believes that this year’s Showcase of the Immortals is already ruined and there are only two ways to save it, one of which involves former WWE boss Vince McMahon.
While speaking on his YouTube podcast, the 65-year-old claimed that they could also bring back The Rock, which he claims would be next to impossible.
Guys, when I’m talking about pulling something out your a**, to me, you’re down to two choices. You’re down to The Rock, and I don’t think The Rock is going anywhere near this because he has not tweeted one single thing about WrestleMania. Not one. This is a guy that’s on the board. They’re paying him millions and millions of dollars, and he’s promoting it for them. That’s number one.
Number two, if Vince McMahon shows up, yes. Outside of that, nothing, like nothing, is going to work. [0:16 onward]
A final SmackDown episode is scheduled to take place before WrestleMania on April 17. A recent report revealed that there are question marks on the status of Nikki Bella’s WrestleMania appearance due to her recent injury.
