Triple H has faced significant criticism from fans over the past year. TKO is also not very pleased with him, according to recent reports.

The WWE Universe has taken issue with WWE’s creative direction, citing a lack of compelling storylines, inconsistent booking, and repetitive plots.

Amid the backlash, former WWE head writer Vince Russo has repeatedly claimed that Triple H could depart from his role as WWE Chief Content Officer by the end of 2026. Russo has been highly critical of WWE’s creative direction under Triple H, arguing that the product has become poor in quality.

During a recent episode of the Coach and Bro Show, a fan asked Russo via email whether he still believed Triple H would be gone from WWE by the end of 2026. Russo responded that he stands by his previous statement.

Vince Russo Reveals Who Should Replace Triple H in WWE Creative

On another episode of Coach and Bro Show, Russo was asked who should take over WWE creative if Triple H were to leave the position.

He stated that the role should go to someone who truly understands both professional wrestling and television production and knows how to properly format a show. According to Russo, those qualities are crucial for anyone leading WWE’s creative direction.

That’s a…that’s a great question, man. I mean, it’s got to be somebody that understands wrestling and television, formatting a show. They’ve got to know TV. It’s got to be that combination. (From 1:31:05)

While there are currently no confirmed reports suggesting that Triple H will leave WWE anytime soon, rumors have circulated that TKO Board member and WWE legend Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson could potentially replace him.

Some speculation also suggests that The Rock might not take the role himself but could instead appoint his right hand man Brian Gewirtz to oversee WWE creative. Reports last year also hinted at some tension between Triple H and The Rock during the WrestleMania season, though nothing official has been confirmed.
