Breaking: Triple H’s Favorite Star Announces WWE Departure
Triple H’s favorite WWE wrestler has confirmed their departure from the company.
In early January, Bodyslam reported that Tommaso Ciampa was not planning on renewing his contract after it expired.
Neither Ciampa nor the Stamford promotion corroborated the report. Until now, that is.
On January 21, the former one-half of the WWE Tag Team Champion took to X to announce that he was leaving the company.
Ciampa spoke about having competed as a professional wrestler across multiple decades, first in the independent scene, followed by his stint with World Wrestling Entertainment.
While he did not divulge the details behind his departure, the 40-year-old made himself available for future appearances, which confirms that he is not retiring.
In his tweet, Ciampa thanked every person who had contributed to his success in the company while dedicating a special note to the developmental brand, NXT.

Ciampa’s departure leaves his #DIY stablemate Johnny Gargano competing as a singles wrestler. Gargano is currently involved in a feud with Axiom of the Fraxiom duo.
Triple H’s Contribution In Making Tommaso Ciampa A WWE NXT Superstar
Before becoming the WWE Chief Content Officer, Triple H served as a producer on NXT.
#DIY was one of the talents on the developmental brand at the time. Hunter has shared a close working relationship with Tommaso Ciampa and Johnny Gargano.
Under his guidance, Ciampa played one of the most hated heels in the company when he turned on Gargano at NXT TakeOver: Chicago in 2017.
At the 2022 NXT Stand & Deliver event, Ciampa faced Tony D’Angelo in a singles match. He made his entry resembling Triple H’s from back in the day, spraying water from his mouth while standing on the apron.
The match ended in a loss for Ciampa. As he walked to the back, Triple H came out and hugged him before raising Ciampa’s hand as the audience applauded.
