Paul “Triple H” Levesque has come under fire for his lack of creative plans involving CM Punk.

Punk’s last WWE appearance was on the Raw episode after WrestleMania 42, where he addressed his World Heavyweight Championship loss to Roman Reigns.

In doing so, the 47-year-old also recalled suffering personal losses in the form of a close friend and his family pet. Despite the adversities, Punk claimed that he would smile and be optimistic because another opportunity might fall on his lap any day.

This led to the Undisputed WWE Champion, Cody Rhodes, coming out, who had defeated Randy Orton in a brutal match 24 hours ago.

After a brief exchange, Punk encouraged Rhodes to carry on fighting, meanwhile he would look forward to his next opportunity. Punk also teased challenging The American Nightmare for his title. Without saying much, Cody told him to just say when.

Triple H Lambasted For Keeping CM Punk Off TV

Over the last year, Paul “Triple H” Levesque has faced numerous criticisms for WWE’s creative direction. Under his leadership, SmackDown suffered the brunt of low viewership.

On more than one storyline, Levesque’s creative team abandoned ship midway, leaving viewers frustrated. The April-May post-WrestleMania talent releases have not been received well either.

Former WWE employee Jonathan Coachman criticized Triple H for his lack of creative storyline for CM Punk while speaking on The Coach & Bro podcast.

There’s several points I want to make today on WWE and their lack of looking ahead. We just praised AEW. CM Punk has not been on television since WrestleMania—well, I take that back, he was at the MVP fight at the Intuit Dome for Jake Paul. He did an interview there.

But we’ve heard rumors that part of the reason is they didn’t have any creative for him after he lost the belt to Roman Reigns at WrestleMania. Vince, there are probably four guys making north of $5 million a year, and he’s one of them. How do you not have CM Punk creative ready to go the next day—especially when you’ve got four shows in six weeks across different networks?

Vince Russo, ex-WWE head writer, agreed with him, stating that Triple H’s creative team should have worked towards rebuilding Punk immediately instead of giving him multiple weeks off.

And not only that—when he’s a top babyface like Punk is, you’ve got to rebuild him immediately. The last thing you want to do is have him lose and then put him on the shelf.

That loss is fresh in everyone’s mind. That babyface should come back the very next show with impact. We talk about this all the time—protecting your talent. You don’t give the guy a loss and then send him home for four weeks. [H/T: Ringside News]

CM Punk Off WWE TV Due To “Schedule Change”

Despite Jonathan Coachman and Vince Russo going off on Triple H, it was recently reported by Falsh Finish that CM Punk’s absence from television was due to a ‘schedule change.’

The report revealed that the change led to Gunther being moved to SmackDown while kick-starting a feud between Roman Reigns and Jacob Fatu on Raw.

As @FightfulSelect has mentioned, CM Punk being absent from TV is due to a “schedule change”.

Sources tell False Finish that CM Punk is currently awaiting creative to return to WWE TV. Punk’s schedule and creative were shifted after WWE made the decision to move Gunther to SmackDown along with bringing Jacob Fatu to RAW to feud with Roman Reigns.
