Triple H & CM Punk Detail Reasons For Their Previous Real-Life Animosity
CM Punk and Triple H shared many memorable in-ring segments.
Unbeknownst to the fans, however, their interactions backstage were hostile. Punk had even lashed out at ‘The Game’ during his infamous Pipebomb in June 2011.
Their constant confrontations may have been a contributing factor in Punk’s departure from the company in 2014.
Over the years, both Punk and Triple H had been outspoken about their disdain for one another.
After Triple H’s takeover of WWE from Vince McMahon, doors to Punk’s return appeared all but closed.
No wonder it came as a shock to everyone when ‘The Voice of the Voiceless’ made his presence felt at the 2023 Survivor Series: WarGames PLE. Since then, he has been a regular on RAW.
CM Punk And Triple H Discuss Their Real-Life Animosity
Both CM Punk and Triple H have had time to reflect on their real-life animosity.
They got the chance to discuss their sides of the story on WWE: Unreal, the Stamford promotion’s latest docuseries.
CM Punk explained that his experience with Triple H was in varied roles, yet they never gelled.
Initially, Hunter and I clashed because I was a main talent roster full-time the same time he was a main talent roster full-time so there’s that competition. And a lot of that generation was looking down at kids like me, saying ‘Oh, you’re here to take my spot. Well, I’m not gonna let you, or at least it’s gonna be a fight.’ Halfway through my career here, he becomes office, and now I’m like, ‘F**k you. You can’t tell me anything.
Triple H, meanwhile, claimed there was a lack of trust between him and CM Punk.
I always felt like my job was, I’m in between office and the talent. But Punk would never let me assist, and he would then sometimes attack me. Like, there would be moments where we’d have a meeting, and he’d come at me, and I’d leave there thinking, like, ‘This little motherf**ker…’ Punk didn’t trust me and I didn’t trust Punk.
Over time, multiple clips have surfaced online showing Punk and Triple H appearing cordial. After all, two of the industry’s greats putting their egos aside is always “best for business.”
