The WWE Queen of the Ring tournament got underway on Monday.

In the first-round match, Roxanne Perez, IYO SKY, Giulia, and Lash Legend squared off at the Inalpi Arena in Turin, Italy. Throughout the bout, Giulia got massive cheers due to her Italian ancestry on her father’s side.

Perez was also excessively featured and was involved in multiple pivotal spots, including near pinfalls. Legend was the dominant force, as usual, whereas SKY displayed her acrobatics to her fullest potential.

The closing minutes of the match saw Lash Legend hit her Lash Extension finisher on both Perez and Giulia. Just as she pinned Giulia, SKY delivered a stomp from the top rope to break the count.

She then climbed on the turnbuckle and hit Over The Moonsault on Giulia for the win.

On next week’s WWE Raw taping, Liv Morgan, Becky Lynch, Chelsea Green, and Alexa Bliss will compete to secure their spot in the semi-finals of the Queen of the Ring tournament.

Ex-WWE Employee Picks Becky Lynch To Win Queen Of The Ring

WWE’s former employee, Tommy Carlucci, discussed the Queen of the Ring tournament with Gaby LaSpica on The Last Word podcast.

He stated that while Triple H has the opportunity to push any wrestler that he has previously held back, he will choose Becky Lynch to win the tournament at Night of Champions, who will then challenge Liv Morgan at SummerSlam.

Carlucci: I think right now, the clear-cut person, they might give it to Becky Lynch.

LaSpica: Becky Lynch is in the 4-way with Liv. You think she’s gonna beat Liv?

Carlucci: That’s what I’m saying. My point was, is that I think Liv is out some way, shape, or form, and she’s not be able to perform in the match, or she works it that she’s not able to perform, knowing that she has 3-on-1. They’re all gonna come after her.

She powders out, and I think at this point in time, the way they’re looking at it, I bet you because she lost the championship to Sol Ruca that Becky is the next big name, even though I would like to see somebody like Chelsea, I swear to god, I wouldn’t mind even seeing Lash or even Roxanne. Just somebody new and different that we can see, and it’s not the same rehashed crap that we’re getting to see.

But I could see Triple H’s eyes. Becky Lynch, still a huge star, giving her that bone to be at SummerSlam and facing Liv. I could see that happening, Gaby. [11:48 onwards]

Since her return to WWE last year at WrestleMania, Becky Lynch has performed on the midcard, challenging for and winning the Women’s Intercontinental Championship thrice.

Lynch dropped the IC title to Sol Ruca at Clash in Italy on Sunday.

Meanwhile, despite serving as the WWE Women’s World Champion, Liv Morgan has entered the QOTR tournament, claiming that she has no challengers at the moment.

Morgan was involved in a feud with Stephanie Vaquer, who was written off after suffering a legitimate injury.
