Triple H Breaks Major Vince McMahon Tradition On WWE SmackDown

Former WWE Chairperson, Vince McMahon, ruled over World Wrestling Entertainment with an iron fist and made some really intriguing calls over the last few decades.

He had some traditions that he stuck by during his time in charge of the promotion, before things started changing in 2022. McMahon stepped away from the promotion after nearly four decades and was replaced by his son-in-law, Triple H.

The 14-time World Champion has been serving as the promotion’s Chief Content Officer since Vince stepped down midway through 2022. Triple H has made several changes to WWE’s product which has left the viewers pleasantly surprised.

Triple H takes a huge decision on WWE SmackDown tonight

Tonight in Barcelona, he broke another major tradition that Vince McMahon kept during his time in charge. Former WWE star, Matt Hardy, recently revealed in the The Extreme Life of Matt Hardy podcast that Vince loved to make wrestlers lose in their hometown.

He speculated that Vince did so because he felt that they would get major heat on the person who defeats the hometown star. However, it seems like Triple H doesn’t have the same outlook.

With tonight’s edition of SmackDown taking place in Barcelona, Spain, hometown star, Axiom, was scheduled for a singles match tonight. He took on The Miz in his match and got the win over the A-Lister. His win in his hometown showed that Triple H is ready to do things differently on some occasions than his father-in-law.
